Attributes and Domain

Attributes : In general, an attribute is a characteristic. In a database management system (DBMS), an attribute refers to a database component, such as a table. It also may refer to a database field. Attributes describe the instances in the row of a database.

Domain : A domain is defined as the set of all unique values permitted for an attribute. For example, a domain of date is the set of all possible valid dates, a domain of integer is all possible whole numbers, a domain of day-of-week is Monday, Tuesday ... Sunday.
